The House-gardening project highlights a high contribution of achieving Foods-security in our Syria.
#Ihsan for relief and development is still providing agricultural baskets and equipment in southern of Idlib suburb, and the distribution includes farmers and IDPs.
In pursuit of achieving #Food Security, and the contribution to improve the livelihoods, also to reduce the suffering our families are living nowadays. Ihsan for relief and development is implementing an agricultural development project (between olive trees) in #Kafar_Takhareem – north of Idlib governorate.
The project covers 2200 acres with two crops; chickpeas and bean, and the project is being implemented by the farmer of the same area in addition to other IDPs.
#Ihsan institution had focused on applying training workshops for the farmers, about the techniques used in this kind of agriculture.

The Agriculture Project is considered as one of the most important resources of #Food_Security and income for more than 190 thousand of people in the north of rural #Homs, and the current siege is posing a direct threat on people’s life there.
The Home Gardens’ Project is considered as one of Ihsan’s project, in which it aims to achieve the Food_Security, and reduce the suffering that our families are living nowadays.

#Ihsan for Relief and Development is committed to contribute to the reviving of the agricultural sector through a series of development projects in agricultural and #food security sector.
Wheat is one of the most important and strategic crops as it is considered the daily sustenance for people.
In 2015, FAO estimated wheat production in Syria at 2.445 million tons, which means a deficit of 800 thousand tons.

“Home Gardens” an agricultural project executed by #Ihsan in the besieged areas north of #Homs – Syria.
Within its series of Food Security programs, Ihsan for Relief and Development started its project of Home Gardens in north Homs (Rastan – Talbiseh – Alghantu – Gurnata – Zmimir – Dair Al Foul – Alfarhaneyeh – Almakrameyeh – Alshabaneyeh and Alzafarana).
The project covers 2000 acres of potatoes and beans, 2 acres for each beneficiary/farmer.
The project spans over six months, during which Ihsan will provide the farmers with seeds and appropriate fertilizers, as well as the necessary equipment, fuel and pesticides.
In cooperation with Physicians Across Continents, Ihsan for Relief and Development, an institution of the Syrian Forum, distributed 250 packages of frozen meat donated by the Islamic Bank of Development. Each family received 2 KG of meat, as a part of a campaign to provide 1200 packages of frozen meat to villages throughout Lattakia, ending on Tuesday August 18th. Ihsan is one of the several organizations operating inside Syria which has joined this campaign.
Syrian Forum’s Ihsan for Relief and Development completed a wheat and vegetable farming project jointly with Ghiras al Nahda in the besieged Damascus suburb of Al-Assaly. The project was carried out during the summer months of June-September 2014. The provided support ensured the employment of 40 workers, the cultivation of 43 acres and the reform of an agricultural study. Six tons of wheat were produced as a result, and approximately 2000 local people benefited from the project.
