Ihsan for Relief and Development team rehabilitated the Ein El-Souda water station in the western region of Idlib, in addition to rehabilitation of the water network within the town and supporting the operating of the station with fuel and chlorine for five months. The water station serves the town of Ain al-Souda and the town of Ein al-Bardeh, with a population of about 7000 citizens. In addition to rehabilitating the water station and the water network, the project includes activating the collection system of water revenues through the installation of household meters and training of the station cadres on the collection and operation system and the necessary periodic maintenance to ensure that the station is still working properly after the end of the support period.

In response to the needs of increasing numbers of displaced persons from dangerous areas, where clashes are continuing to reach relatively less dangerous areas, Ihsan for Relief and Development has distributed 5,100 hygiene kits to displaced families within host communities in the southern Idlib areas, especially in camps and families Outdoors.
Each hygiene kit contains toothbrush and toothpaste for adults and children, soaps, washing powder, water storage containers, blankets and women towels.
The hygiene kits are being distributed in cooperation with WHH and funded by the German Foreign Office to support and protect IDPs by raising personal hygiene, which is one of the most important issues faced by IDP families during the displacement, many of these families have left their homes urgently to survive the lives of their children headed to the camps without preparing for the personal hygiene needs of the family members.
In addition to providing hygiene kits, IhsanRD also establishs several projects within WASH program to provide clean water for the purpose of drinking, cooking, personal health and hygiene in order to maintain healthy lives and limit the transmission of waterborne diseases through the rehabilitation of water stations and water networks, rehabilitation of sanitation systems, distribution of hygiene kits, water trucking for communities and ensuring proper disposal of waste.

Qastoon water station serves 16,000 people in Hama countryside after been rehabilated by IhsanRD

Villages in Syria suffer from great difficulty in accessing safe water, especially during the last years of war, which caused the destruction of infrastructure, and many main water stations which feed the villages and towns are neglected, causing suffer for people to search for sources of drinking water. Therefore, IhsanRD works within the WASH program to implement a number of projects for the rehabilitation of water stations and networks in several areas in Syria.
One of those projects is the rehabilitation project of the Qastoun water station in the northern Hama and rehabilitation of the water network within the town.
The water station serves the towns of Qastoon, Al-Luj, Shagurit and Hamimat, with 16,000 inhabitants.
In order to rehabilitate the Qastoon water station in an optimal manner, the project team carried out a number of activities including:
Installation of Submersible pump set, rehabilitation of the generator room, installation of 250KVA generator and 200KVA power transformer, installation of water tanks and fuel tanks, installation of electrical control panels and provision of sterilization systems with the necessary materials in addition to supplying the station with the fuel needed to operate them.
In addition to rehabilitating the drinking water station and the water network, the project includes activating the collection system for water revenues by installing household meters and training the station cadres on the collection and operation system and carrying out the periodic maintenance necessary to ensure the station’s operation after the end of the support period. In addition to rehabilitating the water station and the water network, the project includes activating the collection system of water revenues through the installation of household meters and training of the station cadres on the collection and operation system and the necessary periodic maintenance to ensure that the station is still working properly after the end of the support period.

Many areas in ‪#‎Syria‬ are suffering from an acute shortage of ‪#‎water‬, as the result of expanding the besieged areas, an preventing water and electricity. The ‪#‎national‬ organizations have reported that there is about 70% of Syrians, currently are suffering from the shortage of drinkable water.

Within the ‪#‎WASH‬ Program, ‪#‎Ihsan‬ Institution for relief and development, has installed three water stations in three areas; Abyad –‪#‎Aleppo‬ Suburb and Sarmeen – ‪#‎Idleb‬ Suburb, in order to reduce our families suffering, and to provide drinkable water for those in need.
