In spite of the suffocating siege and heavy shelling of the eastern Ghouta near the capital Damascus, Child Friendly Space (CFS) team organizes a variety of recreational activities for children in shelters at their neighborhoods to relieve them of what they are going through where mobile teams carries out activities in Haza, Kafr batna, Saqba and Ein Tarma As part of a contingency plan as a result of the difficult conditions in the eastern Ghouta and to ensure continuity of work and reduce the risk to the lives of children because of transporting.

In order to reintegrate children into education process, IhsanRD distributed 1000 school kits in the north of Syria

Protection Program within IhsanRD through the Case Management Team, seeks to provide appropriate growth opportunities for vulnerable children and reintegrate them into schools within the working areas of IhsanRD in Syria, which have recently witnessed a major trend of pushing children to work and dropping out of schools because of the need for income, and the lack of educational institutions in some areas.
IhsanRD team through the case management department aims to identify children who dropped out of education and reintegrate them into appropriate education within the formal or informal education process, ensuring their growth opportunities and strengthen family resources to gain some stability that provides educational growth opportunities for these children.
Last week, protection team in IhsanRD has reached 1000 children in Tqad, al-Sahhara and Armanaz (600 children in Tqad and al-Sahharah , 400 children in Armnaz) to reintegrate them into education again through the linking process and providing school kits containing stationery in addition to a curriculum suitable for the child’s age and educational level. This activity was carried out in cooperation with the Child Protection Network in the project’s areas, which IhsanRD believes in activating its work as local bodies close to the community and directly contribute to the promotion of child protection and protection of vulnerable groups within their regions, IhsanRD teams work closely with the Child Protection Network to support and reactivate its role after deterioration in the last years of the war and the harsh conditions experienced by the Syrian society.
The Case Management Department as a part of protection team in IhsanRD continues to monitor the stability of children in their schools and receive appropriate education.

IhsanRD Protection Team completes the training of “Child Protection During Crises”

Last month IhsanRD organized a training for the protection teams in Idlib and western Aleppo countryside at the child friend centers of Ihsan in Syria.
The training was attended by 55 trainees from the IhsanRD protection team, including the staff at the Child’s Friend Center in Taqad and the mobile teams in Al-Sahharah, Kafruweid and Armnaz.
The training included several topics in 1 – Child protection during crises 2 – Primary psychological assistance 3 – Minimum standards in child protection 4 – Child – Friendly Spaces 5 – Fundamentals of case management 6 – Communication skills with children. The training also included useful tools and techniques for facilitation, as well as detailed training modules with key learning points, lesson plans and interactive exercises.
The training aims to increase the efficiency of the protection team at IhsanRD in order to enhance the skills of dealing with children and address the issues of protection of children during the war they are going through.

New cooperation between the Women’s Creative Center in Jarabulus and The Stabilization Committee to support and empower women

In order to support and empower women, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Women’s Creative Center Supported by IhsanRD in Jarabulus city and The Stabilization Committee of the Aleppo Governorate Council, which is carrying out many projects aim to support and activate the role of civil organization in the governorate. Due to the MOU, the Committee provided seven sewing machines to the Women’s Creative Center in Jarabulus, which will benefit from within the scheduled activities in the classes of developing the vocational sewing skill of participant women.
Women’s Creativity Center in Jarabulus is one of many centers operated by IhsanRD in several areas of Syria. Through its centers, IhsanRD aims to support women’s creativity, develop their skills and raise their awareness of their special role and abilities through training activities for women and girls in various professional and educational aspects psychological support.
 A new session is held every two months. The activities of the Women’s Creativity Center in Jarabulus during the last session included about 500 women. The centers include activities and multiple classes in literacy, computer skills, sewing and wool knitting, English, hairdressing courses, and sessions about life skills for girls. The center has a nursery room to relieve the burden of mothers participating in scheduled programs. The Center’s activities also include mobile teams conducting awareness sessions for women and girls outside the center.

Child Friendly Space in Al-Ghouta continues to provide parents skills to deal with children in a way that helps them to raise their children properly, especially in the harsh conditions of war that affect children and leave a variety of effects on different levels of psychological, social and study.
In addition to parenting skills lectures for parents, the center regularly organizes many other activities within and outside the center, such as scheduled activities for children in recreation, awareness and psychological support, as well as adult awareness lectures.
The Child Friendly Space (CFS) in the eastern Ghouta is one of many centers Supported by Ihsan for Relief & Development, which are spread in several other governorates in Syria, such as the center in Jarablus in northern Syria and Rastan’s Center in Homs province.

IhsanRD and Youth… New and diverse horizons within Youth Support Center in the northern Homs countryside

Because the youths are the most precious asset we invest in, and because IhsanRD believes that a better society cannot be built without the participation of active youth who have the tools of production; therefore, Ihsan for Relief and Development implements several projects to support young people and qualify them on professional and social aspects to be independent individuals and self-reliant and to be also actors in building their communities.
The Youth Support Center in the northern Homs countryside is one project within the Protection program at IhsanRD. The center alternately receives male and female youth on a weekly basis, aged (16-24 years old) in English language classes, computer skills, men’s haircuts, women’s hairdressing, and first-aid classes. In addition to classes inside the center, there are external training that includes (car mechanics, motor mechanics, the electricity of cars, home painting and mobile maintenance courses).
In a related context, the center also includes many recreational activities, sports and cinema sessions as well as open discussion sessions.
About 500 boys and girls are participating in the current course, which lasts for about two months. The number of participants in the YSC project in the northern Homs countryside reached 4680 boys and girls since the beginning of 2017.
